Roman Pinal

Roman Pinal has made a lifetime commitment to the improvement of the working and living conditions of our nation’s farm workers.  Roman was born in East Los Angeles and lives in Sylmar, California with Viviana Cardenas-Pinal, his wife and three daughters.

Today, Roman works for the United Farm Workers of America, the union founded by Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta in 1962.  He has served as an organizer both in labor and political campaigns and currently helps run the union’s research and comprehensive campaign activities.

Roman’s responsibilities include raising public awareness to protect the civil rights of farm workers and the larger immigrant community.  Over the last fifteen years, he has helped win union contracts for strawberry, vegetable and wine grape workers, elect candidates, pass legislation and oversee public outreach activities.
