Michael Flood has served as the Chief Executive of the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank since 2000. During his tenure, the Foodbank has started new programs to increase food distribution and launched new hunger education and public policy initiatives. A Los Angeles native, Michael has been in “food banking” since 1990 working previously for the Redwood Empire Food Bank and the Contra Costa Food Bank. Michael has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the California Association of Food Banks and also has served as a member of Board of Directors of Feeding America and as Chairman of the California Senior Brown Bag Association. Michael earned his MBA and BA degrees from the College of William and Mary in Virginia where he was an All-American soccer player. He enjoyed a brief professional soccer career with the Chicago Sting in the now-defunct North American Soccer League. He is still involved in sports as a volunteer soccer and baseball coach. Michael is also a member of the Los Angeles-5 Rotary Club, Town Hall and the UCLA Extension Dean’s Advisory Board.
